Kathryn and Larson Jennings struggle to find each other as they work their farm. Kathryn's marriage isn't exactly what she hoped for, and, until a disaster brings them together, she and her husband share a home but not their hearts. In addition to the daily tribulations they face, both must deal with Larson's past: being raised in a brothel by his mother has lead to an overall distrust of women that Kathryn must help him overcome.
